Crown & Bridges

Bridges are an excellent choice when needing to replace missing teeth and make your smile whole again. Patients can get their custom-made bridges at the Centre for Cosmetic Dentistry.

Bridges are constructed with replacement teeth on a frame that is then bonded to the back of abutment teeth to the sides of the tooth gap. The teeth are color-matched to the remaining natural teeth in the mouth to look just like the missing teeth did.

The bridge will be attached to either one or two teeth, depending on where the gap is located in the mouth and the availability of sturdy abutment teeth.

Typically, it is recommended that the bridge is attached to teeth that have been prepared with a crown. This is, however, the choice of the patient, either based on the patient’s budget and the condition of the abutting teeth. The different types of bridges are categorized by the way they are bonded into the arch.

• Traditional bridges are bonded to two crowns.

• Cantilever bridges are bonded to only one crown.

• Maryland bridges are bonded onto two natural teeth.

• Implant-supported bridges are bonded to the two crowns on top of two implants.

Let the Centre for Cosmetic Dentistry help you decide which bridge configuration is the best for you.
