Lumineers Veneers

Veneers have been used since the first days of movie-making. Actors needed less than perfect teeth fixed before filming and needed a quick solution. Dentists would glue veneers on top of stained or misshaped teeth to make the smile look perfect. Unfortunately, the glue available over 100 years ago was not strong enough to last for more than a few days. The veneers had to be replaced frequently.

Adhesives have improved tremendously since those times. Veneers are now placed with an agent strong enough to make them permanent. Traditional veneers still require significant preparation of the teeth before the veneer can be attached, making the process lengthy. Patients wishing for less tooth preparation have another option available at Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania.

Lumineers are a new brand of veneers offered at the Centre for Cosmetic Dentistry and manufactured at DenMat Dental Laboratory. These veneers are thinner, more economical, and have easier application.

Lumineers are referred to as “no-prep” veneers, requiring less preparation and advanced dental work than traditional ones.

Lumineers are ultra-thin laminate pieces that can cover teeth that are unusually shaped as well as discolored, although they may not be a good option for severely stained teeth due to their thinness.

Lumineers also provide the ability to be removed with minimal damage to the teeth if needed, whereas traditional veneers cannot.
